Brief Experience :
A fan of all things 'dirty' Mike likes to put an extra quirkiness in his mixes to stand out from the crowd. The resulting sets are mixture of House, Breaks, Techno and Electro plus a few random crazy moments Mike began a love affair with House Music after wasting countless Sundays evenings through to Monday mornings at Sydney's infamous Tantra nightclub where Dj's Shamus, Cadell and Sassy (Sarah Main) used to rotate around the decks until the suits were walking the streets outside in the morning. Mike picked up a pair of decks and a mixer in 2003, originally to play Trance, but whilst learning to beat mix with productions by Tiesto and Rank 1 he had an urge to mix House burning inside, from this moment on it was House that became his primary genre. In 2004 Mike was regularly mixing at Fitness First open days, a strange place to DJ, but a great place to gain experience of mixing in front of an audience, and raise money for the various charities they supported. Then in 2005 he entered the Young Guns DJ Comp, ran by MC Losty at Candy's Apartment. He comfortably won the House heat, but was unable to appear at the final due to studying abroad in Florida. Mike's interest for House Music became deeper during his time in Florida he discovered the House clubs and festivals of Miami and their darker, dirtier, tribal sound. He also managed to play on the party scene up in the college town of Gainesville, previously a house music void, he learnt how to play in a way appealing to people that considered house as 'ugly bang bang techno', and quickly built up a reputation as 'The crazy Aussie with the crazy music', leading to demand for his sets at parties all over the UF precinct. On returning to Sydney in 2006, Mike has looked to introduce the Miami sound to Australia, and continue his growing DJ career by joining the Young Blood Crew - a exciting concept spotlighting the young up and coming DJ's in Sydney- where he has played peak time sets at their Young Blood, Charged and theatrical Ritual parties, Both Ritual parties have set attendance and bar sales records for Candys Apartment. Mike is also praised by promoters for his professional approach and willingness to promote the events that he plays at.
