Brief Experience :
Guy Coleman, Born and bred in the little town of Welkom in South Africa but that hasn't stopped him from following his dream of becoming a dj. Guy's djing story starts of at the young age of 16 where in order to achieve the thrill and essence of djing he played along with two friends Kyle Laidler and Sibby Yose. The three started producing their early tracks together and became known as Nude Goofi. Guy's musical evolution though, began in the progressive house age where he was dropping the 135 to 140 bpm trance favourites that everyone so loved back then. At this time his influences were people like Carl Cox and Paul Van Dyk not to forget Paul Oakenfold, but this quickly changed as he moved on to the funkier side of house and as house grew so did Guy's talent. This was around his senior year where Guy along with the Nude Outfit became quite popular on the house party scene. By this time Guy's mixing skills were quite developed. From there Guy moved to the City of Roses aka Bloemfontein for university -it wasn't too long before he was dropping those sweet sexy funky house tunes on the airwaves in the form of KovsieFM in 2002. At first he featured as a resident DJ in a funky house segment on a techno/progressive/hard house show but because of the speedy growth of house in South Africa and the rest of the world Guy's segment became a show of its own. By the end of 2003 he had built his show to legendary status. The Show is called The Westdene Massive and it has a massive following in the house community in Bloemfontein, the show is supported by the largest record store and music equipment store in South Africa, Soul Candi, providing the show with musical content. 'The Westdene Massive' is a huge supporter of up-and-coming djs and regularly showcases local talent on the air, promoting the industry and providing much needed exposure for all the bedroom jocks trying to break out in front of an audience.2006Right now the radio show is still pumping away on Saturday nights but that's not the only place you can catch Guy. He has a residency in the local Stones where you can catch him during the week as well as on weekends where he'll get you going with good commercial hip hop, pop, rock and naturally, house music. He regularly plays private house events and underground deep house parties all around Bloemfontein and the Free State Area. Guy is now part of a production group called the StereoPunks along with fellow deep house djs Sibby Yose and Kevin Sparks. The group is currently working on their first album together producing various tracks creating some beautifully addictive sounds, mixing some local flavour with European trends creating a distinctly unique feel.
