Brief Experience :
The electronic music world came into existence for Greg when over ten years ago a friend played Orbital's In-Sides CD while at a LAN party. Shortly thereafter Greg found the MOD and S3M world through BBS', artist groups like the KFMF (Kosmic Free Music Foundation) and Purple Motion Crew. A couple of months went by before Greg tried his hand at making MODs and S3Ms himself with Scream Tracker 3.2, a freeware based tracker program made by the PMC group. For years after Greg slipped back into the mainstream music scene, listening to FM radio, listening to new and old music and eventually starting in the late 90s, early 00s a Live365 radio station. Artist promotion managers for groups like Sevendust, Lowest of the Low and Default approached Greg, passing him promos before the bands had hit it big time for the Live365 station promotion. It was around this time Greg got back into the electronic music scene, listening to Ministry of Sound broadcasts from 98-02 from Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, ATB, Ferry Corsten/System F and the Magik Adventures of Tiesto. While still running the alternative music station, Greg opened up two more radio stations on Live365, one dedicated to DJ mixes, and one dedicated to singles of the dance and trance variety. As the alternative station began to shut down, Live 365 went from free to pay to play, and Greg searched for alternative options. A friend introduced him to Atomix, a digital DJ mixing software package. At this point in time Greg was deeply into dance, hard trance, hardcore and psych music, and began mixing under the guise of DJ Commisad. At first Greg went from IRC based radio station to another, going through 4 or 5 short lived residencies on radio stations that were most likely almost as shortly lived, having their main audiences of the rap, prank and popular alternative persuasion, there wasn't any space for a hard trance DJ who was mixing live. Frustrated, Greg was likely to find a spot in UK based international internet Radio Freedom's lineup. Mixing a live weekly show for them, DJ Commisad's Kinesthetic Soundscape began to take off. It was at this time Greg met future producing partner Wes Johnson (at the time, guised DJ Igloo). Due to a conflict with management over the content of the show, Greg found himself again without a venue. He was able to run 5 episodes of Kinesthetic Soundscape on Altered States Lounge (ASL), before a malicious hacker destroyed that community, and again found himself in limbo. On the eve of 2005 (New Year's Eve 2004), Greg got his first big break. Local radio show host, Angelo, of CJSF 90.1 FM's Intro to Trance, was able to get Greg booked as the opening DJ in a lounge. Due to a cancellation at the last minute from an already overbooked DJ, Greg's opening slot went from 1 to an hour and a half. Now a progessive trance DJ ahead of the curve, Greg impressed the headliners. By summer of 2005, Greg and Wes Johnson were producing remixes and original tracks under the guise of Johnson & Corbett, and shortly after were rewarded with a contract from Australia's Trance Tribe Recordings, an at that time new label who brought them in as flagship producers. By the end of 2005, Ibiza Sun had been produced with Alan M. and thanks to Greg's work, big name artists like Nick Thompson and Alucard had signed on to do remixes (although only the Aramanja/Alphazone and Alucard mixes actually made it to the final press). Their first vinyl on its way to presses for spring of 2006, Greg and Wes' efforts were rewarded with a slot on ETN.fm. Greg has a ton of edits, bootlegs, mashups and a couple of remixes under guises DJ Commisad (older edits), Corbett, Greg Corbett and new alias Slyxster. His current style ranges from electro and house to trance (electro, house, progressive house, progressive, breaks, progressive trance, trance). As productions were underway mid 2005, Greg was rewarded with opportunities to guest mix twice for Redstar's (Redstar Recordings) Aura Sessions, as well as Chris Chambers' (Alter Ego) DI.fm show Elevated Progressive, Party 107 show Shockwave, and DJ Ampz. As well as that, Greg and Wes were rewarded with a residency with Party107.com and a bi-weekly residency on ETN.fm. To this day Greg still mixes weekly for Party107.com, a two hour slot featuring one hour of Greg and a weekly special guest, and is in the works of acquiring his own ETN show with local star Danny Taylor, who has signed on as a resident with the new Ministry of Sound club in Asia.
