An architectural gem, Alley Bar's location provides an exquisite backdrop, which is set in the narrow back lane between two conservation shop houses in the Peranakan Place precinct. Alley Bar was Orchard Road’s best-kept secret until yuppies and hipsters started cottoning on. Now, it bustles with a cool crowd any night of the week, and you would be hard pressed to find a seat on weekends.
Crafted from what is previously a derelict space, Alley Bar oozes cosmopolitan appeal that seamlessly weaves old-world charm with contemporary design. Featuring a sweeping airy ceiling dotted with hanging lamps, this understated watering hole boasts of a 15m-long black terrazzo bar complemented by a striking gilt-framed mirror that captures the bustling scene below.
Slink onto a high leather stool at the bar or chill out on low comfy settees in a cosy adjoining lounge with a wide array of refreshing cocktails, wines, bottled beers as well as draughts. Prices start from $11.50 per glass for house pours spirits and wines.
What also sets Alley Bar apart from the rest is its menu of unusual gastronomic delights such as Cantonese wings, Calamari Rings, Pizzas, Braised Shitake Mushrooms, Roast Duck and Watermelon salad, Proscuitto, Braised Mushrooms, Char Grilled Chicken Burger with Chilli jam, Vegetable Tempura with Nori Spice & Ponzu Mayonnaise.
